Daffodils in downtown Blacksburg in a parking lot. Small wonders.

Sometimes direct sunlight can be good for flower photography - in this case, back-lighting was important in combination with a dark background in deep shade. That combination makes for a difficult exposure however and I had to meter the light off of a mid-toned subject in the foreground. The wide open aperture gives the shallow depth of field.
